Parents' respect and affection are expressed by the care and attention they devote to bringing up their young children and providing for their physical and spiritual needs. As the children grow up, the same respect and devotion lead parents to educate them in the right use of their reason and freedom. (Catechism of the Catholic Church # 2228)
Does religious education continue after your child receives his or her First Communion? Yes, indeed it does. As always, it is our baptismal call and duty as Catholics to pass our faith on to future generations. The more your child learns, the more his or her faith will become stronger in order to have the best ability to succeed in life through the good and the bad times.
The Boston Deaf Apostolate now offers Post-First Communion classes on Sundays in the school year 2024-2025 at St. Jude Parish, 147 Main St. Waltham, MA. Please click the following link to register your child for this program:
Faith Formation Registration
This program consists of several Family Sessions where parents are encouraged to join with their child and work together in order to nurture the faith at home. Also parents are invited to come and hear our scheduled guest speakers who will share about how their faith plays out in their life journey and why it is important to nurture our faith.
However, if for any extraordinary circumstances your family requires classes at a different location and time, arrangements can be made through the Office of the Deaf Apostolate at the Archdiocese of Boston. If that is the case for your family, please contact the Office at office@deafcatholic.org and we will be happy to assist
as much possible as we can.
We look forward to having you and your family with us!
